Today I rode from Woodinville, Washington to Skykomish, Washington, for 52 miles of rolling hills with some long climbs. The ride was through the beginning of the Northern Cascade Mountains, and it is beautiful. Tall peaks on the side of the road covered with evergreens lifting into the low hanging clouds. It was cloudy throughout the ride in the mid 50s which made for perfect riding notwithstanding the constant drizzle; typical Seattle and Cascade weather. Along most of the ride was the Skykomish river now swollen with winter snow melt rushing through narrow rapids and falls.
