Riding Day Fifty Two– August 17 to Jordan, New York

Today I rode from Palmyra, the birthplace of the Mormons to Jordan, a tiny town. The ride was short, about 55 miles, and the weather perfect. This section of the Erie Canal does not have a tow path so I took route 31 aka bike route 5.

Who is John Gotti?

What an idiot. Everyone knows John Gotti is some guy from Alaska......you see in Alaska the Tlingit clans are organized into two major moieties, Eagle and Raven. So Ravenites are members of a clan that worships the Raven. Since the Alaskan natives came across the old land bridge from Asia the guys stuck in big cities felt most comfortable with their ancestors...so they went to Mulberry St to be in New York's Chinatown. The ones that were poor couldn't afford the rent in the heart of Chinatown so they moved to the fringes which bordered on an Italian neighborhood. However they found they got pushed around and changed their name to fit in but kept the reference to Ravens to honor their true past. John Gotti is just one of these guys. It's all good!
