Riding Day Twenty Five – July 17 to Spearfish, South Dakota

Today’s ride was uphill for the first 30 miles to O’niell’s pass in the black hills, and then 30 miles downhill. A tale of two different rides. The climb was long, slow but not bad. The descent was through the Spearfish Canyon which is beautiful. I took my time rolling down against the wind taking pictures.

Tomorrow will be the last day for our support people George and Russell. They were enormously supportive and helpful during their tenure. Marlene wrote a song and we sang for them last night at our nightly meeting and presented them with awards she made from paper plates. It was lots of fun and laughter. And a good time was had by all.

Aha..The gotcha moment. The "daily horse" in this group of pix obviously had a nose job-narrowing its white stripe since the Newcastle photos....My "Conspiracy Theory" like Darwin's is looking more real..less theoretical...of the "intelligent designers" think differently...ACT...p.s. isn't it tough staying out of site, living in the basement for 2 months, to pull this hoax off?......How does Elaine get food to you?.. 50% good 42% pretty good 5% somewhat bad 3% bad..

first errata from above "of course the "intelligent designers"...

On another note, since you're going into desolate territory, I suggest getting a sign made up and staking it some where along the way...The sign would be inscribed "The SDW Trail".....do it for posterity, man....and of course take a pic...so few people go by there, and for those who do, who might google it, put a write-up in Wikipedia...come up with some historical/hysterical description of your trail...or maybe have all the readers of this blog come up with their "description" and you be the final judge

Who knew Paul O'Neil played quarterback?...How long was his pass?

It was Shaq Oneill's pass. Paul O'neil played baseball - no passes.
