Riding Day Twenty Six – July 18 to Rapid City, South Dakota

Total miles so far 1,758

The road between Spearfish and Rapid City is not great for bicycles. I rode along I-90 which had one side closed for construction and the shoulder wasn’t great. Eventually there was a service road.

I rode through Sturgis, SD, the motorcycle capital of the world. In 2 weeks a half million motorcyclist will descent on a city not larger then New Paltz, NY for 10 days of rallies and socializing. It was quiet today and I visited the Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame. Otherwise today’s ride was uneventful.
